Hyde Leadership Charter School
Hyde Leadership Charter School (Hyde-Bronx), the only college preparatory charter school in the Hunts Point section of the South Bronx, will occupy the neighborhood’s first newly constructed school in more than 30 years. The new 31,500-square-foot building is being developed by Civic Builders and Goldman Sachs’ Urban Investment Group and LIIF partnered to finance the project through a $21 New Markets Tax Credit transaction. The move will enable Hyde-Bronx to expand from 750 to 1,000 students in one of the poorest areas of the US. The building features two science labs, a roof-top recreation area and a multi-purpose room that will serve as a cafeteria, gym and lecture hall.
