Commodore Stockton Child Development Center provides a quality full-day child development program for 264 low income preschool and school-age children living in the Chinatown neighborhood of San Francisco. For many children living in the City of San Francisco, there are few areas for outdoor play space. LIIF’s support enabled the Commodore Stockton Child Development Center to improve their play area and expand their outdoor activities, which includes a ‘Living Library,’ where the children can garden and learn about planting, soil and composting.
