LIIF Catalytic Capital Highlighted at Franklin Cummings Tech Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony in Boston's Roxbury Neighborhood

Today, LIIF joined Mayor Michelle Wu, partners and community members at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Franklin Cummings Tech’s new 68,000-square-foot educational facility, now located in the heart of the neighborhood’s Nubian Square. LIIF funded a $9 million participation in a $38.5 million loan led by Boston-based CDFI Property and Casualty Insurance.

State-of-the-art classrooms and student spaces include Automotive Technology, Opticianry, HVAC&R Technology, Engineering Technology and Mechatronics, Yawkey Student Lounge and Kraft Center for Student Success. The Liberty Level offers Boston skyline views (second image below). Additionally, the campus is LEED Gold certified, meaning the project incorporates elements that address carbon, energy, water, waste, transportation, materials, health and/or indoor environmental quality issues.

Founded in 1908 using a bequest from Benjamin Franklin and grants from Andrew Carnegie, Franklin Cummings Tech has provided Boston residents with post-secondary technical education for more than a century.
