It was shovels in hand today for a collaborative of partners and community members who have made Palm Villas at Millennium Apartments Phase I a reality. LIIF and partner Lift to Rise provided developer Palm Communities a $750,000 predevelopment loan to support this Coachella Valley project in Palm Desert, California.

This parcel will be transformed into an affordable housing development comprising 241 total units: Phase I’s 121 units are currently under construction; while the remaining 120 units of Phase II will be developed at a later date. The first phase will target households with incomes from 30%-60% area median income (AMI) and will consist of a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom family apartments.

Communities Advocating for Resident Empowerment (C.A.R.E.) will provide tenants free adult classes, plus an after-school program for school-age children. Additionally, Shelter From the Storm will provide on-site supportive and adjunctive services for special-needs tenants.
