LIIF’s loan to Civic Builders helped the nonprofit charter school developer to renovate an old church vestry into a new school for Democracy Prep Charter School’s high-performing middle and high school students. Democracy Prep continues to be one of the highest-ranking schools on New York City’s Chancellor’s Progress Report and the city’s Learning Environment Survey. The new school will allow Democracy Prep to achieve its goal of educating 750 students in 6-12th grades.
