LIIF’s loan enabled Euphemia L. Haynes Public Charter School (E.L. Haynes) to build a brand new 46,000-square-foot charter school for grades pre-K through eight. By moving into the new location, the school’s capacity grew from 200 to 450 students of which 62% are qualified for free or reduced lunch. Students at E.L. Haynes continue to outperform their peers on district exams. E.L. Haynes also received a Silver-Gain Award through New Leaders for New Schools’ Effective Practice Incentive Community grant program for three years in a row.
