This week, the Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF) joins all of San Francisco in celebrating Week of the Young Child. For more than 20 years, LIIF has invested directly in early care and education as a pathway to opportunity for low income families. LIIF uses capital, capacity building and public advocacy to support the improvement and expansion of child care facilities. But, we know that having a high- quality place to learn is only the start. What goes on inside the walls of a child care center is what makes a difference in children’s lives. High quality early care and education requires high quality teachers, who are recognized and compensated for the critical work they do.

On Sunday, April 17, LIIF is proud to be a co-sponsor of the provider appreciation reception honoring San Francisco’s early education providers along with the Mayor’s Office of Early Care & Education, Mimi & Peter Haas Fund, First 5 San Francisco and the San Francisco Child Care Planning and Advisory Council. This event is an opportunity to acknowledge the important work providers do to support working families and educate our youngest children.

During Week of the Young Child, we hope you will join us in raising awareness around the need to economically empower those who dedicate their lives to the youngest members of our community.
