LIIF Announces New CFO & CAO

The Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF) is excited to announce Giles Coates as our new chief financial officer (CFO) and the promotion of Sabrina Baptiste to the newly created role of chief administrative officer (CAO). In their roles as senior leaders for the organization, both Mr. Coates and Ms. Baptiste will join LIIF’s executive team.

Mr. Coates was previously the global head of finance and accounting for FINCA Impact Finance, an international network of financial services providers using fintech to expand financial inclusion for low-income clients. Prior to FINCA, he worked at Capital One, where he served as CFO of the commercial real estate business and CFO of the community development finance business. Mr. Coates has an extensive background in capital markets raising debt and equity for commercial finance companies. He has also worked as a credit underwriter and asset manager in the real estate, retail and healthcare finance sectors. His range of experience includes several of LIIF’s core business functions and program areas. Mr. Coates is a U.K. Chartered Accountant and holds a BS in Law and Accounting from University of Wales, Cardiff. He will be based in New York.

In her new role, Ms. Baptiste, LIIF’s former human resources director, will oversee LIIF’s human resources, information technology and administration teams and will continue to be based in San Francisco. Ms. Baptiste has worked domestically and internationally with mission-driven organizations, most recently as the head of human resources for Goodwill Industries of San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin Counties. She has significant experience in IT and administration management and in implementing social justice and equity initiatives, specifically around recruitment. Ms. Baptiste was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2005, and is a certified Senior Professional Human Resources (SHRM) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional.
