LIIF Strongly Supports Nomination of Shaun Donovan to Head HUD
The Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF) issued a letter in strong support of Shaun Donovan’s nomination to Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs met for a hearing on his nomination today.
LIIF is a leading community development financial institution headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington, D.C. Through its community investments, LIIF has invested nearly $750 million into low income communities, largely in support of affordable housing development.
“LIIF saw Commissioner Donovan’s positive impact on families and communities first hand in New York City,” said Nancy Andrews, President and CEO of LIIF.
“Commissioner Donovan has continued to be a leader and innovator in effective community development and affordable housing programs throughout his career in the public sector,” continued Andrews. “I believe this track record, along with his private sector experience, make Commissioner Donovan uniquely able to lead HUD in the current climate. We are pleased that the incoming administration has selected such an exemplary candidate and urge the committee to approve his appointment.”
