Increasing Opportunities for Latino Boys and Men
Opportunity Finance Network (OFN), a national network of community development financial institutions (CDFI), has recently announced a $1 billion dollar Youth Opportunity Pledge in support of President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper Initiative. LIIF is proud to have joined with OFN in their Youth Opportunity Pledge, which promises CDFI financing to support youth of color nationwide.
In a feature from NBC News, LIIF’s investment in the ACE Charter School in San Jose, CA was highlighted among investments that are benefiting young Latino boys and men. LIIF provided a $3.75 million construction loan to ACE to build a new school. The new 19,680-square-foot facility enabled ACE to grow enrollment from 340 to over 450 students, 95 percent of whom are low income Latino students.Read the full article on NBC News
