ABCD Development Assistance
Developer Peer Support Network
The Developer Peer Support Network is one of the important ways ABCD Development Assistance supports community developers who partner with the child care community. The Network is a learning community of peers, bringing experienced developers together with those just entering this emerging development area. As a member, you will have access to some of the best thinking in the field.
The Network provides support to developers through:
- Bi-monthly meetings with fellow developers from across the state to share challenges, successes, strategies, current trends and regulatory requirements for child care facility development
- Inclusion in an active on-line community of developers where child care facility development information and resources are shared
- Access to resources (handbooks, checklists, and guides) created by developers that can help make the child care facility development process more efficient.
All interested developers are welcome to attend. If you decide to become a regular member of the Network, you join a dynamic group of peers who work to transform the field by:
- Including child care within all appropriate housing and other suitable mixed-use developments and tracking and reporting development statistics
- Participating in child care facility development trainings
- Sharing best practices with other community developers around the state
- Advising LIIF/ABCD on the development of quality standards for child care facility development
- Helping to disseminate the message that "Child care and housing make successful partners" and advocating, when appropriate, for effective policies that support sustained child care operations and facility development
