WHAT WE DO
LIIF’s Los Angeles office provides loans, grants and technical assistance for child care, education, affordable housing and other vital community revitalization efforts in Southern California’s high-need neighborhoods.
Lending products include:

Constructing Connections

IMPACT
In FY07 (July 1, 2006 – June 30, 2007) LIIF’s Los Angeles office provided 53 loans and three grants for affordable housing, quality child care and schools totaling $40 million. This activity has benefited 41,200 low income individuals in Southern California and supported:
- 870 units of affordable and supportive housing;
- 1,350 child care spaces; and
- 11,700 classroom desks.

Alouette Child Care Center, San Diego
LIIF’s
Los Angeles office provided a $621,000 loan to Alouette Multi-
Lingual Preschool and Daycare in San Diego, California. Alouette offers a
unique, multi-lingual and multi-cultural approach to preschool education by
providing instruction in English, Spanish and French in order to create an
atmosphere that embraces different languages and cultures.There are
currently no child care and/or preschool centers in existence within the San
Diego area that offer this type of multi-lingual curriculum for children. Alouette serves up to 51 children within the following
ages: toddler, preschool, kindergarten and school age.
