CHILD CARE GRANTS
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT GRANTS
The Quality Improvement Grant Program is intended to support child care programs that are participants in the Every Child Counts First 5 Alameda County Quality Improvement Initiative program. The Grant Program awards funds for child development materials and equipment, minor facility improvements or repairs, and other quality improvement projects designed to address areas identified in the child care program's Quality Improvement Plan.
Grant amount: Up to $10,000 for child care centers and $5,000 for
family
child care providers.
Eligibility: Providers must be participants in the Every Child Counts First 5 Alameda County
Quality Improvement Initiative, and be located in Alameda County.
Timing: Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis.
FACILITY GRANTS
The Facility Grant Program supports planning, pre-development, construction and other facilities and equipment costs for the start-up of a new center-based child care program, expansion or maintenance of an existing program, or preservation of a program that is at risk of losing existing slots. Eligible uses include but are not limited to feasibility studies, business plan development, permits, architectural services and related costs, equipment purchases, and physical renovation.
Grant amount: Up to $50,000 per facility.
Eligibility: Center must be a be a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization or have a 501(c)(3)
fiscal sponsor, and be located in Alameda County. Additionally, centers must
focus their services in at least two or more of the following areas: infant
care, special needs or low income populations.
Timing: Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling
basis.
